Ringwood Field Naturalists Club Inc.

Founded in 1961, The RFNC is a group of people who enjoy learning about nature. The Club provides a friendly and informal place for people to explore, learn and share their interest in Australian Natural History. We enjoy getting together, having a walk and learning about the myriad of things that exist around us.

The Club caters to all areas of Natural History by having a varied programme - we don't specialise in just one or two areas of nature. At our monthly meeting, we have presenters giving talks on wide-ranging topics. Our monthly excursions and twice-yearly weekends away are spread across Victoria, giving the opportunity to explore new areas.

The Club provides a place for anyone interested in Natural History to meet new people with similar interests. Whether you're interested in birdwatching, learning more about plants, or exploring native orchids, the Ringwood Field Naturalists Club is sure to have something to offer.

The Club has:
  • A monthly meeting - with guest speakers, member's photographs & exhibits,
  • Excursions - day trips on the weekend to places of interest,
  • Autumn & Spring weekends away - a full weekend away to a location in Victoria,
  • Field-care days - tree planting/weed removal at local sites,
  • The Whistler - our 6-monthly Newsletter,
  • A natural history library - available for borrowing.

Monthly Meeting

If you're interested in the Club, visitors are always welcome at our monthly meeting. Come along and see what we're all about and meet some members, who'll be more than happy to have a chat.

The February to December meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm, at the Ringwood East Senior Citizens Centre (2-8 Laurence Grove, Ringwood East, 3135). Our January meeting is an outdoor gathering at a local reserve or bushland.

If you'd like to get in touch, drop us an email (click here) or give us a call on (03) 9801 6946.
